| Your internet provider determines what your i.p. address is. They automatically assign one to you when you restart your modem depending on where you live. Who is your internet provider? Go to the manufactures web site of whoever makes your modem, they have a bunch of options you can choose from but you can't pick or make your own i.p. address. |

It's because you didn't open your routerports |

| Have you ever tried to run a server on an Amazon EC2 instance of Windows (using 2012 server)? Gore doesn't appear to be working with those ports. When I run "netstat -p tcp -ano" in command prompt, no port even in the 2xxxx range is present. Or are there other ports for Gore Retail? Not having any luck on a VM server either and the 27770-27780 ports for my Netgear router are set to be open. |

| no, I can not help you with this. I allways make servers in windows.
Maybe the default gore port is not 27770-27780, but an other number. add a port yourself to your cfg file that loads your server (the file containing your servername, location, devpassword,...
host *:27771

| Yeah, I had tried that. It's a windows server, so pretty much just like windows just with better software and hardware management. Maybe I'll try opening up all ports and see if I can map what it's using and if it's even a port issue. Maybe Gore Server will only work up to XP, for all I know. |

| Too play togheter with your brother on 1 server: -You can make a server online (like we do at PopZ) -Or start gore, create server. Then your brother can join via "LAN" |

| open your eyes: first post of this topic.
VARIANT 2
1. need to open ports 27770-27780 2. check ports, u can do here http://portforward.com/help/portcheck.htm 3. open your Gore shortcut at desktop, choise properties and write this to the target folder: --server --gamemode tact (or ctf, or other) 4. example: "C:\Program Files\Gore Special Edition\Gore.exe" --server --gamemode tact 5. click to shortcut and server work 6. if you want to play, than go to Gore SE folder and open gore.exe |

Thanks for the reply No problem. Wait and see what Kenny says. He may know something I don't. My expertise is really in networking, web design, Basic Combined Programming Language and Object-Oriented Programming Language. I dealt with porting and such when I was in my first semester of school because it was required. But as far as your question goes, for TCP/IP, I'm pretty sure the answer is no. You can only have one application listening on a single port at one time. Now if you had 2 network cards, you could have one application listen on the first IP and the second one on the second IP using the same port number. |

Thank-you Well here in our clan we have more then 1 server up. There are running from the same PC, so also the same IP. The only thing that changed is the routerport. example: server1 tact: 123.456.789 :27790server2 ctf: 123.456.789 :27791To do this you need to make your own .cfg files and drop them into the Settings folder. Lets call it server1.cfgHere is what need to be in that file: adminpassword raptor devpassword raptorss location US maxconnect 16 publicise 1 remoteadmin 1 servername raptor's tact server greeting1 welcome greeting2 play fair bandwidthin 90000 bandwidthout 90000 rules gore verbose 0 exitsave 1 host *:27790Then you make a shortcut of Gore.exe to your desktop. Go to properties, and add the red line to the target: "D:\LENA\GORE GAMES\Gore US\GoreUS 1.50\Gore.exe" --server --load server1.cfg --gamemode TACTDon't forget to add the spaces: spacestripestripeserverspacestripestripeloadspaceserver1.cfgspacestripestripegamemodespaceTACTFor a second server: Make again a own .cfg file and drop it into the Settings folder. example server2.cfgadminpassword raptor devpassword raptorss location US maxconnect 16 publicise 1 remoteadmin 1 servername raptor's dm server greeting1 welcome greeting2 play fair bandwidthin 90000 bandwidthout 90000 rules gore verbose 0 exitsave 1 host *:27791Then again make a shortcut from Gore.exe to your desktop. Properties and add this red line to the target: "D:\LENA\GORE GAMES\Gore US\GoreUS 1.50\Gore.exe" --server --load server2.cfg --gamemode DMDon't forget to add the spaces again. Now you just need to be sure that the routerports you fill in are open. Note: the routerports need to be open both ways: UDP and TCP This is the way we run our servers. It's works for Ultimate Soldier and Special Edition. It allows you to run mulitple servers via 1 IP. |
